Are They Stealing Your Commissions?

by: Esther Smith

Surveys suggest that at least 50% of your affiliate commissions are being stolen. That?s 50% minimum, of YOUR money straight down the tubes.

So here?s my question to you:

If you saw this link in an email, would you know that it was an affiliate link? ?. http://hop.clickbank.net/hop.cgi?YOURNICKNAME/ventures

Anyone who has been on the Internet for more than five minutes recognizes this as a link to a product that pays an affiliate commission.

And if you have been on the Internet for more than ten minutes, you would know that there are plenty of link-hijackers that will change that link to: http://hop.clickbank.net/hop.cgi?THEIRNICKNAME/venture before they use it!

Sad but true. Then there are the link-bypassers! Let?s try this for your link: www.marketingebook.com/YOURid changed to: www.marketingebook.com/THEIRid or even this change where nobody gets any credit at all: www.marketingebook.com/

Is it any wonder you are not making the affiliate sales your marketing efforts tell you should be the case? Are you one of the 50% whose commissions are being stolen? If your visitors never make it to your webpage, you?ll never get your affiliate commission.

Human nature being what it is, we are not just referring to the professional thief? we?re talking about the average Internet surfer who thinks, ?Why should I give my money to this affiliate when I can simply plug in my own ID instead.?

Even stores with excellent security like video cameras and magnetic tags still lose money each year to professional shoplifters ? they know this.

And nobody can stop all of the hijackers and bypassers, but there are ways to foil 70% to 80%, and in reality these morons will choose an easier mark when they see an encrypted Affiliate Link.

If you are not ?cloaking? your Links, you darn well should be. Get those affiliate checks pouring through YOUR mailbox ? your earned them!

Stay inspired ---
