Description
The Professional Practices Team’s (PPT) contributes to the mission of Internal Audit for the Americas (IAA) by optimizing and implementing audit best practices. We accomplish this by providing the tools, resources and professional expertise necessary to support IAA’s objectives.

Development, advancement, delivery and execution of reporting, MIS and analytics supporting the Head of Professional Practices. In this capacity , the VP of Data Analytics and Reporting will manage and own the d evelopment of technology solutions and capabilities that facilitate efficient and effective decision making and trend assessment, and accurate execution of reporting processes and tracking.

Strategic subject matter expert (SME) and technical support of the Audit Workpaper Application (GRC: Dashboards, SNAP and Board Reporter). Responsible for development and execution of data best practices for IAA and Professional Practices in the area of analytics and technology solution.

The incumbent is expected to be an effective data analytics, reporting and project manager and be able to contribute to the overall execution and advancement of core Professional Practices and IAA strategic objectives. The incumbent must provide thought leadership in reporting and analytics; be able to drive and direct reporting capabilities; be a leader in data best practices; influence decisions; possess excellent information generation, writing and presentation (technical, influence) skills; and, communicate effectively with senior peer and senior team management across the Americas.

Responsibilities · Management Information / Performance Measurement and Reporting

a. Drive the strategy and execution over the IAA management information and performance measurement reporting.

b. Drive data best practices across IAA reporting

c. Manage the coordination, execution and delivery of weekly and monthly IAA performance metrics and reporting package (MIS);

d. Drive the enhancement of capabilities to monitor/track the audit universe, audit plan, audit issues, time budget, etc. across IAA

e. Continuously revaluate and enhance performance metrics and reporting through interaction and engagement with IAA Senior Management and audit staff

f. Automate and design an operational process to provide weekly and monthly reporting for the IAA Senior Leader Team (SLT) and management team.

g. Coordinate and lead the response to requests for reporting and data to support the SLT, Audit Staff and IAO-Tokyo · Data Analytics and Dashboard Reporting

a. Lead the advancement of Internal Audit data analytics and dashboard reporting capabilities, delivering business results while anticipating problems and challenges

b. Assess and develop solutions for the implementation of tools to advance analytics and reporting capabilities.

c. Analyze data and deliver reports with available tools (GRC, SQL Server, Business Objects, Access, Excel etc.)

d. Develop and deliver training / knowledge transfer of available reportable data with audit staff to increase general departmental knowledge of the data analytics function and available data retrieval options

e. Facilitate end user working groups to elicit business requirements for application enhancements

f. Develop, implement and maintain a reporting library to support the standard audit needs. In addition re-evaluate opportunities for optimization and enhancement
· SME Liaison for GRC / Back-up Support of Overall GRC Administration

a. Ownership and expertise over the reporting capability of the Audit Workpaper System (e.g., GRC SNAP, Dashboard & Board Reporter)

b. Provide guidance and act as back-up support for technical administration of the Audit Workpaper Application (i.e., Thomson Reuters GRC)

c. Liaise with GRC administrator to resolve day-to-day Audit Workpaper Application issues
· Best Practices

a. Work with the IAA Head of Professional Practices on select projects and initiatives supporting the Professional Practices Team and IAA.

b. Lead the development and execution of key IAA reporting and analytics strategies

c. Maintain audit product expertise and knowledge of industry reporting and analytic best practices

d. Identify & implement Work with the IAA Head of Professional Practices on select projects and initiatives business process improvements and address data quality issues including:

I. Recommend & document business requirements for system and procedural changes

II. Implement new reporting enhancements and processes

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience and business acumen within audit, risk, compliance related and reporting / analytics environments
  • Strong working knowledge of data analytics, dashboard and MIS reports(e.g., crystal reporting, business objects, conditional formatting, excel formulas, visual basic)
  • Proven capabilities in developing data intensive management reporting and dashboards utilizing multiple technologies and tools.
  • Proven track record in project management and coordination efforts across multiple groups
  • Expertise with, Excel, Access Databases, SQL language, Database structuring and design.
  • Demonstrated ability to create, analyze, interpret and present data and metrics to senior management in reportable formats and frameworks.
  • Able to design, develop and manipulate Access databases, data warehouses and multidimensional databases.
  • Strong analytical skills & problem solving capabilities
  • Detail oriented and well organized.
  • Expertise in Thomson Reuters GRC SNAP reporter (preferred)
  • Prior risk/control experience (preferred)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong work ethic, ability to make decisions, and work under tight deadlines

Education

  • B.A./B.S. degree required
