Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Research Investigator to join Clinical Histochemistry at Bristol Myers Squibb with strong Oncology and Immunology domain knowledge and proven communication and leadership in working with thought leaders in a matrix environment. The candidate must have a strong track record rendering translational biomarker concepts into immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization lab experiments including interpretation of cell-type tissue expression and their correlation with clinical outcomes data. Clinical Histochemistry is responsible for developing and analyzing data from sensitive and robust biomarker assays developed internally and implemented externally that enable decisions for BMS clinical trials. We partner with BMS groups in Discovery, Clinical Development, and Pharmacodiagnostics to ensure quality assays are delivered in pursuit of exploratory and patient stratification goals. The successful candidate must have experience in automated immunohistochemistry, technical knowledge of DNA and RNA situ hybridization assays, and ability to interpret the success of those assays with regards to cell type expression in tissues. Highly desired skills include applying digital image analysis methods to quantify IHC results on tissues and application of statistical methods to correlate assay results with clinical data.


Qualifications
• A MS degree plus 5 to 7 years of experience or Ph.D. with at least 4 years experience in a university pathology lab or pharmaceutical or biotech company
• Highly motivated, communicative, team- oriented individual who has the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment, and demonstrated success working with senior pathologists and biologists
• Must have expertise in automated immunohistochemstry assay development, visual interpretation of cell-type expression in tissues, and whole slide digital image scanning
• Experience applying software to quantify IHC results is highly desired
• Must have advanced Excel skills and ability to apply basic statistics; experience with Spotfire desired
• Domain knowledge of oncology and clinical outcomes data types and track record correlating to immunohistochemistry biomarker data is desired
