Job Description
The qualified individual will work in a group responsible for the development of potency assays and other biological characterization assays to support bioproduct development

  • The candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of biological assays
  • The candidate will be expected to communicate results effectively in presentation and written reports, and to participate in cross-functional teams


Basic Qualifications

  • PhD Degree in Molecular Biology, Immunology, biochemistry, Bioanalytical chemistry or related field with 3+ years’ experience in pharma/Biotech industry, or an MS with 10+ years’ experience in pharma/Biotech industry
  • Demonstrated experience in elucidating mechanism of action of molecules, understanding gene expression control, signal transduction pathways in fields on oncology, immunology, neurobiology or endocrinology.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in potency assay development. (reporter gene assays, proliferation assays, effector function assays, other fluorescence and luminescence based assays)


Additional Skills/Preferences

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with automation such as liquid handlers, FACS, Biacore is a plus. Experience with statistical analysis of bioassays using softwares such as SoftMAX pro, PLA2.0, JMP (SAS)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to meet specific goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and supervise other scientists.
  • Understanding of GMP quality systems.
  • Knowledge about FDA/EMA regulations on potency assay development.
  • Understanding of antibody and protein drug development and analytical control strategies
