Job Description
The qualified individual will work in a group responsible for the development of potency assays and other biological characterization assays to support bioproduct development
- The candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of biological assays
- The candidate will be expected to communicate results effectively in presentation and written reports, and to participate in cross-functional teams
Basic Qualifications
- PhD Degree in Molecular Biology, Immunology, biochemistry, Bioanalytical chemistry or related field with 3+ years’ experience in pharma/Biotech industry, or an MS with 10+ years’ experience in pharma/Biotech industry
- Demonstrated experience in elucidating mechanism of action of molecules, understanding gene expression control, signal transduction pathways in fields on oncology, immunology, neurobiology or endocrinology.
- Extensive hands-on experience in potency assay development. (reporter gene assays, proliferation assays, effector function assays, other fluorescence and luminescence based assays)
Additional Skills/Preferences
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with automation such as liquid handlers, FACS, Biacore is a plus. Experience with statistical analysis of bioassays using softwares such as SoftMAX pro, PLA2.0, JMP (SAS)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to meet specific goals.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work with external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to train and supervise other scientists.
- Understanding of GMP quality systems.
- Knowledge about FDA/EMA regulations on potency assay development.
- Understanding of antibody and protein drug development and analytical control strategies
