Job Summary and Essential Functions:

Summary:
To perform ex-vivo and in-vivo microCT scanning and image analysis, and help to develop new imaging techniques for different disease models via micro-CT. This position will also involve handling and manipulation of mice.

Responsibilities:
This position will encompass both ex vivo and in vivo work and involve:
-Scanning of tissue samples using the ex vivo microCT machine and image analysis of these scans.
-In vivo handling of mice including:
-scanning of mice using the in vivo microCT machine and performing image analysis;
-routine injections and necropsy;
-routine monitoring of the mice by observing their general condition and maintaining detailed records.
-This position will provide microCT support for multiple projects and investigators and requires efficient time management.
-The position also entails lab management support such as ordering supplies and equipment, maintaining lab records, and adhering to safety regulations.
Requirements Candidates are expected to have a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering or a related field with 3+ years of lab related experiences.
Extensive experience in handling mice is essential; including conducting regular large-scale mouse experiments involving various routes of injection.
Ability to perform intravenous injections will be a distinct advantage.
An individual with experience using CT scanner will have a considerable advantage.
A general understanding of imaging analysis; ability to use Analyze or
AutoIt software will be a distinct advantage.
Good organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, good
interpersonal skills and ability to perform as a team player.

This position will require the individual to pass a physical before beginning employment.
