Primary Responsibilities:

  • Focuses on applying and enhancing knowledge on subject matter expertise
  • Applies project management methodology to new situations and unknown areas
  • Understands and can discuss the application and implications of changes to process and policies relating to the project
  • Prepares executive summaries related to the project and participates in senior-level discussions
  • Participates in the development of reference and resource materials
  • Acts as a support resource to both internal and external parties across the broad landscape of end to end implementation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams in geographically dispersed workforce
  • Ability to support team and identified functional partners (telecom, technology, claims, clinical, quality, reporting, network, etc.) effectively and efficiently to assure successful delivery on assigned areas of responsibility on a given project
  • Provide support to Program Manager/Sr. Project Managers on setting up Charters, Project plans, infrastructure related to the project
  • Provide analysis on complex, large contracts (400+ pages), pulling out client requirements for technology, operations process, compliance and regulatory and organizing into a tracking grid to be managed with cross-functional teams to validate, assign, and solution
  • Responsible for task level forms and functions of setup such as some analysis of client documents, interpreting into forms, and coordinating client audit or readiness review deliverables and activities between the client and cross-functional teams
  • Bring requirement analysis work forward to the Business Analyst and help to facilitate the production requirement documentation between the BA and Cross Functional area representative for all IT/Technology impacts
  • Effectively perform project management role supporting Sr Implementation Managers including utilization of support tools: Charter/Scope, Project Plan, IRAD/Issue Log, Lessons Learned, Requirements Matrix, etc
  • Track status of project timelines and milestones and communicate with management and team members
  • Work with Leads, Program Managers, and Functional Project Managers to resolve conflicts
  • Recognize risks proactively and utilize appropriate resources to develop mitigation strategies that minimize customer and operational impact
  • Assesses progress and report status to management and key constituents timely via written or verbal communication – present projects to manager in order to gain agreement on approach
  • Highlight areas of concern or where assistance is needed
  • Responsible for maintaining documentation according to standards related to quality review of project
  • Consistently utilize standard project management tools and adhere to document retention standards
  • Effectively share information and document clear transition plans on project closures for team members and key operational stakeholders to ensure deliverables are successfully sustained post implementation
  • Assist in facilitating and collecting formal lessons learned information from Cross-functional areas in order to document in tracking repository
  • Leadership ability to drive outcomes without direct authority, engaging team members in a cross-functional virtual environment
  • Strong analytical skills and operational understanding
  • Broad knowledge of system and technology alternatives
  • Demonstrate the ability to quickly/positively change project priorities as business goals shift
  • Demonstrated competency in consulting skills, negotiation, communicating complex information and solution development.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business or related field – or equivalent experience –
  • 2+ years of project management experience in a business operations or equivalent setting such as IT, Finance, or other function
  • 2+ years of experience in tracking, planning projects, and working with teams to make data-driven analytical decisions
  • Experience in successfully managing major projects with at least one implementation in a non-IS/IT business function
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Project or similar project planning tool, Visio, and SharePoint preferred


Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification highly preferred or ability to obtain certification within 18 months of accepting the position
  • Healthcare and/or healthcare operations experience highly preferred
  • Proven experience consulting with external customers regarding operational needs a plus
