SUMMARY:

The Project Analyst promotes an understanding and effective application of project management and project lifecycle methodologies and workflows.

This position ensures project related applications, e.g., MS Project, BrightWork, SharePoint, etc., are aligned with and enable the efficient and effective execution of these methodologies.

The Project Analyst consults with and supports project managers and project team members on project management and project lifecycle best practices from both a software and methodology perspective.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide expert advice on applying project management and project lifecycle methodologies and best practices. Project management methodologies include, but are not limited to, the management of project schedules, budgets, issues, scope changes, risks, documentation, communication, metrics, human resources, and quality.

These methodologies are scaled based on the project’s size, complexity, and governance requirements.

Project lifecycle methodologies include, but are not limited to, waterfall, iterative, agile, hybrid, solution assessments, enhancements, releases, and R&D. Understanding the interactions among these project management and project lifecycle methodologies is critical.

Provide expert advice and support on using MS Project to create and maintain project schedules.

Consult with project managers on best practices for defining and scheduling tasks; assigning resources; and reporting and analyzing schedule progress.

Work with project managers to ensure project plans reflect intra-project dependencies and resource usage across the IT project portfolio. Assist PMO in monitoring and assessing project portfolio to identify potential resource and project phase collision points.

Provide support for MS Project, BrightWork and other tools used to support company’s portfolio, project, and work management methodologies and workflows.

This includes analyzing and resolving application issues reported by users, consulting with users on how best to leverage available tools, configuring tools to support company methodologies and work flows, administering security, and conferring with IT technical staff to analyze and resolve technical issues.

Document and administer governance requirements for portfolio management, project management, project lifecycle and work management methodologies. Create and maintain project related governance documents including, but not limited to, policies, guidelines, standard work, and forms.

Create and disseminate status reports for the project portfolio. Provide recommendations for improving project management and project lifecycle methodologies currently in use based on feedback from project managers and project staff, and analyzing industry best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

4-year college degree

in Business Administration, Information Technology or related

field with at least 3 years of IT project and project application software experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

·Knowledge of portfolio management, project management, and project lifecycle principles, concepts, and practices

·Ability to gather and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and suggest solutions

·Ability to work and excel in a cross-functional team environment

·Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple, simultaneous tasks and/or small scale projects

·Ability to effectively manage change while showing initiative, self-motivation and resourcefulness

·Ability to produce accurate, thorough professional and error-free documents

·Ability to understand what people say and to detect what they might be hesitant to say

·Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel and to interact with diverse personalities

·Proven organizational and time management skills with strong orientation toward results and process

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or equivalent certification / experience preferred or acquired within first year in this position

Bilingual preferred
