Job Description
The Manager of Technology

serves as an integral part of the enterprise Information Services leadership team.
The Manager’s role is to share the vision, demonstrate the values, support the philosophy, and be sensitive to the mission of Overlake Hospital.
Lead the department in support of the strategic plan, by aligning resources and efforts to meet Information Services and Overlake Hospital goals and objectives.
This includes planning, design, architecture, implementation and project management; operations management, customer service, staff development, and fiscal responsibility.
The Manager has responsibility for the areas of information technology and services including, but not limited to, network infrastructure, storage services, biomed integration, telephony, and back office services, messaging services, data center operations, and business continuity, while also being accountable for the development of the vision and architecture to support the integration of these core information technology services components.

Job Responsibilities:
(Essential job functions)
· Plan and integrate functions and services to support Overlake’s goals and priorities.
Assist in the creation of a commonly shared vision for information systems, technologies and applications.
Analyzes the needs of departments and establishes priorities for feasibility studies, solution design and implementation to develop new and/or modify the existing technology infrastructure.
· Build effective working relationships throughout the organization with managers, staff, physicians, customers and suppliers.
Manage vendor, consultant, and other third-party relationships appropriately and professionally, while maintaining the best interest of the hospital.
Communicates effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
· Direct the work efforts of and provide leadership to staff for effective service:
a. Select qualified and competent employees; provide orientation and continuing education and development.
Focus staff on professional development and prepare annual plans that target skills development where interest or needs exist.
b. Communicate Overlake Hospital’s vision and priorities and facilitate development of team and individual goals in alignment with organization goals.
c. Establish performance expectations and provide coaching to achieve positive results.
Recognize effective performance, and address performance needing improvement in an honest and timely manner.
Empower staff to make decisions by providing information and tools.
d. Serve as an effective role model of Overlake’s Shared Values and encourage staff to develop and demonstrate those values.

· Overall management of Windows and Linux-Unix server environments.
Manage and support MS SQL Server, Active Directory, MS Exchange environments, web content filtering devices, email encryption devices, anti-virus systems, and backup systems.
· Management of the LAN and WAN.
Manage the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and operation of LAN hardware/software.
Ensure third party telecommunication circuits are appropriately designed and monitored to support business requirements.
Familiarity, common use and deployment of Intrusion Detection Systems ( IDS).
· Continually assess and improve care and services provided to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of customers.
Foster continuous quality improvement by leading teams in use of quality management tools and processes.
Provide technology and process component leadership to the organization’s infrastructure services environment.
Identify technology advancement and investment to enhance processes or enable business applications.
· Manage organizational resources with fiscal responsibility and promote effective allocation and utilization.
Provide input to the annual budgeting process, and manage fiscal responsibility for both staff and technology areas in areas of coverage.
· Provide leadership and direction to staff regarding project efforts and priorities.
Assists with and ensures compliance with information security policy and procedures throughout the organization.
Drive technology and process enhancement to improve and facilitate adequate security practices.
· Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education : Bachelor’s degree required
. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience : Minimum of three years’ experience in information technology required
. Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Previous healthcare experience preferred.
Special Training/Skills : Project management skills preferred.
Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to address executive management are essential.
