Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for the development and integration of highly-complex electro-mechanical assemblies in support of the Automation Engineering Group. Develop validation plans and functional verification criteria for mechatronic assemblies. Hands-on engineering work and oversight and coordination of the activities of technicians and other support personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs engineering work from concept stage through sustaining engineering phases.
- Understanding of industry drawing standards, formatting, and dimensioning including GD&T.
- Performs FMEA to identify areas of risk to the product design and develop mitigation and improvement plans.
- Identifies material, process, and other pertinent specifications needed for the successful development of mechanical components and mechatronic assemblies and their implementation in production.
- Prepares layouts/models based on design specifications.
- Presentation of design concepts to customers.
Job Requirements :
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to develop highly-complex electro-mechanical assemblies including robots and control systems.
- Ability to analyze system design requirements.
- Ability to effectively work alone or as part of a highly diverse cross functional team.
Educational/Certification Requirement :
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Mechatronics required.
Experience Requirement:
- 2+ year experience with electro-mechanical assembly/system development
- Experience in the development of highly-complex automation designs and their release to market.
- Ideal candidate should have hands on experience working with tools and performing complex assembly operations which may include the use of precision measurement tools or a CMM.
