Job Description

The primary duties and responsibilities of the IT Specialist (Operating Systems) is to maintain operating system and layered products, including modifications, updates, and patches; writes documentation for users and updates computer files on a continuing basis as situations and procedural changes demand. Your duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Maintains liaison with departments of the hospital to plan and coordinate efforts, resolve common problems, develop mutually beneficial programs.

Maintains liaison with VA Medical Centers and the Chief Information Office Field Offices (CIOFOs) for import and export of application enhancements.

Protects data from unauthorized release or from loss, alteration, or unauthorized deletion.
Reviews Assignments outlining broad analytical objectives.
Establishes specific objectives, defining the resources needed and coordinates the activities necessary to complete the task.
Inputs jobs to the system, monitors job status, analyzes error listings, prioritizes errors, and assists users in resolving system problems.

Work Schedule: 1st Shift 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
