Position Summary :
The Instructional Data Specialist will support retention, completion, and student success initiatives in the Division of Learning by coordinating with other departments to interpret Instructional and fiscal data to generate recommendations and reports to inform Division of Learning initiatives and best practices in retaining community college students. In addition, the Instructional Data Specialist is responsible for oversight of the administrative and instructional budgets and accounting in the Division of Learning. The Instructional Data Specialist will maintain currency in regional and national trends in retention, completion, and student success, as well as federal, state, local and institutional rules and regulations related to fiscal management. The Instructional Data Specialist will identify data needs specific to the Division of Learning and liaise between the Office for Learning and HR, PRIA, LOA, Budget, and other departments to ensure systems and processes track relevant data for new initiatives in Learning. The Instructional Data Specialist will also review and recommend adjustments to Division of Learning policies and processes to accurately track information in AACC systems.

Salary range: $46,583-69,352

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) or higher in business or data management in an academic discipline or related field.
  • At least five years of relevant experience ideally to include a combination of experience requirements listed below:

o Experience with accounting and fiscal management preferably related to higher education,
o Relevant experience at a not-for-profit institution,
o Experience with both operating and enterprise activities and budgets,
o Experience interpreting and following mandated regulations preferably related to higher education,
o Experience with integrated database systems such as Colleague or Banner

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge/experience in research design, quantitative and qualitative methodologies, and benchmarking.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
  • The ability to handle sensitive information with complete confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated competence using appropriate technologies including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access), and SPSS or SAS.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience related to assessment preferred
