Information Architect: Data Management

The architect guides the strategy, supports governance activities, directs projects on their overall data approach, facilitates data architecture engagement with the broader architecture team, and participates in formal architecture review and approval meetings.
The architect provides oversight over the data and information artifacts including enterprise object model, data services, data definitions, content, geo spatial artifacts, reporting and analytics as well as data quality rules. The architect is also responsible for specific data strategies. The expected outcome of these activities is to maximize the value of information across the enterprise.

Position Requirements
For this role focused on Data Management one must be degree educated with at least 7 years IT experience. Ideally you will have experience of working with insurance industry common data models and the current version of the DMM.
They should have excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation and excellent skills in data management, data modeling, data services, reporting, and analytics as well as the tools used to support these areas.
Key technical skills include Big Data, NoSQL , Hadoop and BI Data Presentation (Cognos, Qlikview, SSRS/SSAS, SAS, Etc) and the IBM InfoSphere suite.
Finally you should have the ability to understand the long-term (“big picture”) and short-term perspectives of situations and the ability to translate business needs into architecture requirements.
