With your property and casualty insurance background, keen understanding of risk management and sharp analytical mind, you’ll be a welcome part of our team.

Join us in analyzing and administering the property and casualty insurance programs in our Risk, Strategy and Financial Advisory Services Department. You’ll review coverage terms and conditions and ensure that CMS Energy and its subsidiaries are adequately insured against risk.

 

Among your key responsibilities you will:

  • Coordinate the preparation of insurance underwriting submissions
  • Identify risks and opportunities for insurance and risk transfer to support negotiations with contractors and vendors
  • Establish and maintain data and spreadsheet information and perform statistical analysis of risks and insurance
  • Prepare insurance claims documentation for small and mid-size claims (under $10M) and prepare insurance reports and presentations for department level management.

 

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or other relevant field; insurance coursework or training, or work toward accreditation as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter or an Associate in Risk Management preferred
  • 3-7 years of work experience, preferably as an insurance broker or other insurance field professional
  • Ability to communicate complex property and casualty insurance concepts effectively
  • Strong communication, analytical and negotiation skills
