Advance your career and lead an electric distribution crew responsible for safe, efficient and cost effective construction, metering and storm restoration projects.

Supervising a team of 12-20 bargaining unit electric distribution, transmission or metering staff, you will be responsible for managing successful headquarter business operations in a cost effective fashion while maintaining a safe work environment. The work involves a mixture of standard to advanced supervisory and operating responsibilities, including management of complex projects

 

Related responsibilities will include:

• Supervising and monitoring electric distribution employees
• Planning and managing the scope, schedule and cost of assigned construction projects
• Developing direct reports in both business knowledge and technical skills
• Initiating and leading change to improve results
• Administering the Working Agreement while dealing effectively with local union leadership
• On-call assignments and working extended hours during restoration activities is mandatory

 

Qualifications for this position include:

• HS diploma / GED required; Bachelors degree in a related field, or electric lines on-the-job training is highly preferred.
• Typically 3 years of related field utility experience, with in-depth knowledge of electric distribution operations and construction
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the capacity to lead change efforts in a competitive business environment and ability to direct both company and non-company resources in both routine and non-routine or emergency operations
• Computer proficiency (i.e. Arcos, OMAR, Outlook)
• Availability and willingness to work off-hours as required

 

The reporting headquarters is Kalamazoo, however the position may be reassigned to other headquarters. The ESOM South Zone includes electric lines operations headquartered out of Kalamazoo, Hastings, Battle Creek, Bronson, Jackson, Lansing, Adrian, Allegan, South Monroe, and Owosso service centers.
