Adaptive has a research product in the market that provides for in-depth analysis of adaptive immune related research (immunoSEQ) in multiple fields including oncology, hematology, infectious disease and vaccines and a clinical product (clonoSEQ) for diagnosis and monitoring of hematological malignancies. OVERVIEW
Applications Scientists are responsible for sustaining the immunoSEQ business in their individual territories. Applications Scientists will work with Adaptive Account Managers, Technical Support and Research Scientists to identify, define and provide applications, experimental design, training, technical and other support for the immunoSEQ Kit, Service and Analyzer products to ensure a seamless user experience, customer satisfaction and repeat usage.


RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and execute a territory account support plan to achieve/exceed goals.
Coordinate activities with Adaptive Account Managers to ensure that new and existing customer needs are understood and addressed, including through educational programs, presentations, training or other support.
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with customers, ensuring their satisfaction, retention and ongoing successful product utilization.
Responsible for field-based customer training, experimental design and applications support and troubleshooting.
Provide strategic and competitive customer feedback to sales and marketing to support territory management, forecasting, marketing activities and product development.
Coordinate and communicate support activities and strategies to management.
Ensure that key performance metrics, including customer response time, issue resolution time and departmental efficiency are met or exceeded.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
Although Adaptive’s headquarters are in Seattle, WA, the ideal candidate will be based in the eastern half of the US. Applicants from the East Coast, Midwest and South are encouraged to apply for this field-based position. Travel requirements may exceed 60%

Applications Scientists report to the Director of Marketing and Technical Applications Support.


OBJECTIVES
The Applications Scientists contribute to the achievement of sales and support goals by enhancing customer and team knowledge of and confidence in the use of Adaptive products.

Required Experience:

PhD in Immunology or related background strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years lab experience in molecular biology, genomics, genetics, statistics and/or related fields.
Prior applications or technical support experience preferred.
Commitment to providing outstanding customer service and working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, with the goals of bringing appropriate resources to meet a specific customer need.
Outstanding problem solving, presentation, teaching, listening and interpersonal skills.
Proven experience and expertise in technical writing and scientific communication.
Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to illustrate potential opportunities for applications of or training on Adaptive’s technologies.
Excited about an early stage company environment that may require greater self-sufficiency, time management and organizational skills.
Experience with effective utilization of salesforce.com or similar CRM database a plus.
