JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Compiles, analyzes and provides support for regulatory filings, quality assurance/peer reviews, documentation and analysis of rate issues, rate administration, rate case and policy as directed by management.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Regulatory Affairs Analyst will report to the Director of Regulatory Affairs. The Analyst will:
Prepare accurate and timely cost recovery filings with regulatory agencies. This includes monitoring fuel balances and the filing of fuel factors, fuel surcharges and fuel refunds. Other filings include storm recovery riders and energy efficiency riders.
Prepare and file accurate and timely reports and monitor the filing of reports by other departments within Entergy with regulatory agencies.
Conduct assigned research and analysis on relevant regulatory issues and industry trends.
Act as budget coordinator for the department and assist in the development of departmental presentations including power point presentations,
Act as a liaison with Fuel Accounting, System Planning and other internal groups to support and ensure regulatory compliance and address emerging issues.
Monitor commission rulemakings and participate as needed including the preparation of comments to be filed.
Assist in the preparation of major base rate cases and the coordination of rate filing package schedules. Document and assist in the interpretation of regulatory order filing requirements.
Leads the preparation of updates to rate-related documents used by other departments.
Stays abreast of regulatory changes that may impact Entergy policy decision-making.
Assist other Regulatory Affairs team members, as needed, including some administrative tasks.
Attend Public Utility Commission of Texas meetings as requested.
Manage and respond to data requests for the department.
Prepare regulatory reports for internal and external consumption.
Travel %: 10 %

QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. Preference may be given to candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Qualified candidates must have strong writing and editing skills and must be proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and must be capable of quick, reliable research into regulatory and other subjects, as needed.
Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Candidates must be able to work extended hours for long periods of time and to travel, as required.
Strong candidates can manage multiple projects with limited supervision.
Ability to work effectively and proactively with other internal groups to identify and solve complex issues.

Analyst II: 2-4 years of experience*

  • Experience preferably in regulated industry.
