The Associated Press: ‘Incalculable loss’ _ US Rep. Tubbs Jones mourned.

Susie Buell shared with so many women devoted to Congresswoman Jones: “We are deeply saddened by the news today about Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones …. She has been an inspiration, a fighter and a fearless leader and we cannot forget her invaluable contributions as a dedicated public servant. Our hearts are full of sorrow …”

As Yashar Hedayat expressed it so beautifully and with such obvious affection: “My heart is broken over the death of one of my heroines and friends, Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones. When I got the call a few minutes ago, I could barely hold the phone up. I was hoping when she was taken to the hospital last night that her fighting spirit would pull her through, but alas it didn’t.

I will never forget seeing Stephanie on the road for Hillary for President, no one had more enthusiasm and energy for Senator Clinton. And believe me, when you’re having a tough day, nothing makes you smile more than seeing Stephanie walking through a crowd with that famous grin.

And I am so grateful that I had the chance to fly back with her from New York to DC the night of the last democratic primary, which was June 3rd. We shared a shuttle back to the city from Dulles and she was even funnier at 3am than she is during the day. And I am even more grateful that I spoke to her the other day and got to hear her voice one last time.

When it comes to Hillary most people will never know how much STJ did for her. I will and I will never forget. And the people of Ohio were so lucky to have a public servant who cared about them, fought for them, and most importantly, threw her political career on the line for their voting rights in 2004.”
