On
Christmas Eve there is a traditional procession for Children carrying
baby Jesus and singing Christmas Carols in Maltese in every town or
village throughout Malta and Gozo. These processions start at about
6 o'clock in the evening and last till 9 o'clock.
Another
Maltese tradition is the "Priedka tat-Tifel" which literally
means -- the preaching of the child. A boy or a girl does the preaching
at the midnight mass.
Traditional
Christmas Sweets - Qaghaq TA' l-Ghasel (Treacle Rings) and Imbuljuta
(Chestnuts cooked in chocolate sauce).
