CoorsTek currently has an opportunity available for a talented Product Engineer II. This position will be based in Worcester, MA and is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction and elevating the technical image of CoorsTek by increasing problem-solving relationships with the customer; and developing and managing the Applications Solutions Development focused on our product applications.

Summary:  The Product Engineer proactively develops relationships with key customer technologists, engineers, and supply managers with the intent of improving our customers’ process and promoting our expertise.  Solves applications problems, provides technical support to a global sales team, recommend products and solutions, communicate clearly with external parties, and has a deep understanding of assigned applications.  Guides new product development by providing insight into the application trends and customer requirements.

Essential Functions:

• Driving business growth through identification and penetration of new customers, increasing business with existing customers, helping to set roadmap and identification of new product and market opportunities, and executing product line growth plans.
• Responsible for developing an intimate understanding of the market, building value-added relationships with target customers, and working with a global team of Sales professionals to expand business with new and existing customers.
• Work closely with key customers at customers’ sites to identify and understand their key processes, needs and technical trends as they relate to our products.
• Conduct face-to-face in depth discussions with customers on technical issues associated with our products.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of our products and their appropriate application, as well as competitive offerings.
• Involved in managing and execution of product line activities from strategic planning to tactical activities to achieve the revenue, profit, and growth goals of the business unit
• Analyze the market to understand growth opportunities and new target markets.
• Communicate to cross-functional organizations, including product marketing and account managers on customer needs.
• Take ownership for resolving customer quality issues on assigned product lines.
• Lead and facilitate cross functional teams for problem solving. This includes coordinating activities between the various departments.
• Communicate emerging customer needs to our R&D and product management teams.
• Participates in CoorsTek’s dedication to overall customer satisfaction.
• Active participant in continuous improvement activities through research, benchmarking and identification of improved efficiency.
• Interact with customers and suppliers to clarify points, research material and investigate improvements to current production processes.
• Function in conjunction with sales personnel, interacting directly with customers in the development of new products and to communicate the Company’s technology capabilities while providing solutions in response to customer request of current production issues.
• Provides training/cross-training in equipment, software and process operations.
• May supervise lower level engineers or technicians as a direct supervisor or in a defined project environment.
• Possesses the ability to use the computer system for basic departmental functions.
