GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the Public Works Director, performs very responsible work in directing efficient daily maintenance of all City-Parish mowing and landscape maintenance operations. Primary work includes overseeing City-Parish mowing and landscape maintenance operations such as grass cutting, weed eating, spraying, tree maintenance, and state highway grass maintenance programs, as well as beautification and oversight of litter control initiatives and all forestry and landscape operations that take place within the City-Parish right-of-way. Employee is also responsible for continuous process improvement, operational efficiency reviews, and informing the Public Works Director on key issues relative to mowing and landscape maintenance. Must exercise considerable independent judgment and discretion in carrying out responsibilities, and may be on 24-hour call for emergency situations. Work is assigned orally and by written reports and is reviewed daily through observation and written reports for results obtained. Performs other work as requested.
