Job Description
Incumbent will serve as a member of the Applications Support Section of the Information Technology Section (ITS) within the Information Service Line for the Boston Healthcare System (BHS). The ITS is responsible for all computer information systems including but not limited to Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA), Telecommunications Systems, and Videoconferencing Systems for the BHS. The Medical Center is a level 1 complexity VistA facility running all VistA Class 1 software packages, over 100 “Commercial off the Shelf” (COTS) software packages, some of which are integrated with VISTA, and many Class 3 software packages which have been locally designed/developed and are supported to further enhance the operations of the medical center.
The incumbent will support the overall functioning of the Applications Support Section with emphasis on installing, maintaining, and supporting staff in the use of COTS software. Experience in COTS packages such as EndNote, MS Office (Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc), MS SQL, RightFax, SPSS, SAS, and TeleForms is a plus. Incumbent will be responsible for loading software (on workstations and/or servers as appropriate), ensuring that users have the appropriate access to use the software, and providing technical support to users as questions or problems arise. Work Schedule: Full Time, 8:00am to 4:30pm

NOTE: Travel and relocation expenses are not authorized.
NOTE: Selectee may be required to work at any Boston Healthcare System campus, as needed.

NOTE: Time-in-Grade Restriction – Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service.
NOTE: Participation in evening/weekend alternate tour, if needed.
NOTE: May be required to attend conference, other facilities or other VA sites on occasion.
