Job Description *IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION YOUR RESUME MUST CONTAIN A LINK TO YOUR PORTFOLIO.* The Associate Art Director oversees the Design team, manages the day-to-day tasks and contributes to the design of the leading sports web site. Working under the supervision of the Design Director, the Associate Art Director is responsible for the look and feel exploration, conceptual and visual development of design directions. This role requires broad knowledge and advanced skills in group management, visual design, information architecture, user interface, web standards, and a solid understanding of available client-side technologies. Qualified candidates will share our belief that design is as much about behavior and emotion as it is about utility and ease of use. The Associate Art Director will provide leadership in concept development, creation of original art and UX artifacts, project design/development, and QA. Responsibilities • Support the implementation of an overarching International Design direction • Participates in translating content and site characteristics into design concepts, designs and layouts that meet business goals • Participates in developing and executing design and layout solutions for assigned online content projects; uses various graphics / design software packages to create logos, advertising units and web pages • Applies ingenuity, creativity, analytical and organizational skills to identify and evaluate alternatives and to develop aspects of ESPN’s brand strategy and of marketing initiatives for assigned pages / sections of online properties • Executes design and layout solutions with a good level of proficiency, including color schemes, and layouts • Creates the code for assigned packages and pages • Manages members of the design team as well as outside design resources
