Advancing Women in Leadership Journal, the first on-line professional, refereed journal for women in leadership is our professional career advancement and leadership research publication. It was co-founded and is edited by Dr. Genevieve Brown, Dr. Beverly J. Irby. The Editors invite
authors from all professional fields to submit manuscripts which through their analysis and synthesis challenge traditional thinking and examine outcomes of strategies for women to advance and succeed in their careers.

Advancing Women In Leadership Journal is a core component of our concept of electronic mentoring, allowing women leaders to share their stories and experience, to document and pass along proven strategies for a successful career path. Many consider AWL to be among the most valuable resources on the site and it has certainly succeeded in drawing a large, loyal audience.

Management Team

Gretchen Glasscock, President/CEO, founded AdvancingWom.com shortly after Netscape introduced the first Net browser, using the new platform to educate about and promote gender equity, "leveling the playing field for women and minorities", in effect, changing the dialogue on the web. Through careers.advancingwomen.com Glasscock has gone on to expand and deepen Advancing Women's focus on strategies, techniques, and paths to greater earnings and increasing career success. She attended Wellesley College and graduated from Columbia University in New York City, took courses at Wharton School of Business and is a past member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Women Business Owners - San Antonio Chapter. She has published and spoken on women's career issues internationally.

Carla A. Salinas, Educational Director, is past president of American Federation Of Teachers, San Antonio, an educator who has conducted educational workshops and employee training. She helped develop and taught the English as a second language program at Chrysler Corp. and General Motors in Saltillo, Coah., Mexico. Ms. Salinas provides oversight for the educational and non-profit aspect of Advancing Women.
